After Kimball, Allen attended SMU. Then, the military called for the Vietnam era. Allen picked the Navy. After the Navy, he went to graduate school in business. Then to Caterpillar Tractor in San Diego.
He got married to Lu Ann Hall and had a daughter. Since San Diego is a nice city, he tried to stay there and be gainfully employed. He went to a small defense contractor named All Start Maintenance doing accounting and stayed for 20 years. All Star did facility maintenance. The company grew and Allen grew with it. Eventually All Star was sold to a big public company, who destroyed All Star, as so many large companies do. In 2010, Allen bought some real estate being auctioned on the court house steps. That move turned out well, and Allen is still doing property management. Occasionally he even uses a hammer or other tool. |
