Toni "Toni Lu" Micucci was born February 29, 1948, at Methodist Hospital in Oak Cliff, where she was raised. After attending Jefferson Davis Elementary School, Justin F. Kimball Junior High School (7th and 8th grades) and T.W. Browne Junior High School (9th grade) she attended high school at Justin F. Kimball, graduating with the Class of 1966.

After graduation she worked as a administrative assistance for the IRS where she met the love of her life and future husband, David Austin from West Texas. Toni and David married in 1968, and had a son, David Lynn Austin, Jr. in 1970, followed by a second son, Andrew Anthony Austin, in 1972. Toni's husband is a CPA and has served as Chief Financial Officer for several large medical companies across America. Son David, Jr. is a television producer and is married to Jen who is degreed in film and television, and works in independent film making. Andrew and his fiancee Ann Rutledge have degrees in anthropology and are now living in Utah after teaching for three years in Japan.

Toni was a stay-at-home mom who began working as a Special Education Teaching Assistant for the Plano ISD while her boys were still in school, and she is still there 20 years later with no end in sight. To her, the monetary rewards are far less important than those she receives from hugs and smiles given by her students every day. "Their gratitude and progress is better than any six-figure income. (Well, almost!)"

Her home and family have always been number one in her life, and any hobbies usually revolve around that. She loves to decorate, garden, cook, and entertain. Additionally, she has made her way into the art world with her water color paintings. She has lived in Plano for nearly 30 years, and has seen it grow from a small town to a very big town. Having many philosophies over the years, her current one is "Bloom where you are planted", and it is foremost in her daily rountine.

"In May, 2005, David and I moved to La Grange, Texas...he is the CFO for a hospital in Weimar. We LOVE it here and do not miss North Texas at all. We are 1 hour east of Austin, high on a bluff.

"I am now retired, but continue to tutor and mentor at the elementary school. Since I still don't have grandchildren :-( , I just adopt them! My oldest son and his wife are now living in Singapore, and the youngest and his wife are in North Carolina! I plan on going to Singapore in the summer of '07 ... quite a big step for someone without a passport!!! That's about it..."

Toni has many fond memories of living in Oak Cliff and is looking forward to reconnecting with friends from her days at Kimball. She may be contacted via e-mail at davtoni1@verizon.net for those interested in writing to her.
