Although he came to KHS in October, 1964, his connection to Dallas and KHS run pretty deep. After graduation, Frank A. Lee went to Baylor for a year where he played baseball and consequently was injured. Then, he went on to UT and graduated with a degree in Chemistry.
During this time he married Sammie Kay Winder (KHS Class of '68) and they are still together after 38 years. After graduation from UT, Frank went to work in the oil and chemical business and has been in it for over 25 years. He worked for Occidental Petroleum and 3M and traveled the world. Frank and Sammie Kay settled in Houston in 1978, after living in Dallas and New York City. In 1995, Frank received his MBA in Finance and subsequently was appointed Vice President of Sales and Marketing for a privately held chemical company based in Houston. Sammie Kay is a CPA, and had her own practice while their daughter grew up. Sammie now works for Halliburton. Frank and Sammie Kay have a wonderful daughter, Samantha, who graduated from Law School this past May, 2006, and is "the light of our lives". She is specializing in Criminal Law with the local District Attorney's office as an assistant DA. She will be marrying a wonderful young man in September, 2006, as if her life is not busy enough this year. They have many interests. One of the primary interests is triathlons and marathons. Frank has done over 50 triathlons and 13 marathons. He will be a coach for the Kingwood Fit marathon training program in 2006. Sammie Kay has done 5 marathons so far and is training for Houston Marathon currently. Another avocation is motorcycle riding and touring. The Lees have been doing that for the past 5 years. Sammie just completed her rider's course and will be getting her own ride this summer. "We are looking froward to seeing old friends at the 40th reunion."
