Wow, where do I start? It's not easy to put down in words almost 40 years of living!

Right after graduation, I married Kelly Blomdahl (he had attended Kimball but moved to Grand Prairie his senior year and graduated from GPHS in 1964). He was attending UTA and graduated in 1972 and I also got my PHT (putting hubby through) degree that same year!

Also right after graduation, I worked for 3 years as a bookkeeper for Cattlemen's Steakhouse in Dallas. My mother's first cousin owned all of the Cattlemen's Steakhouses and The Farmer's Daughter in Ft. Worth, so it was sort of nepotism, I guess. I learned a lot and enjoyed being able to eat at Cattlemen's every day, though!

I then worked in accounting for General Motors Acceptance Corp for 7 years beginning in 1969 and quit my job there when I had our first daughter, Monica, in 1976. We were fortunate enough to have another daughter, Natalie, in 1979. I stayed home for 13 years to care for the kids. It was the best 13 years of my life!

When I went back to the workforce, I worked in Kelly's office for 5 years and then worked as bookkeeper for a family owned oil company for 5 years. At that point in August, 1999, I quit my job so that Kelly and I could travel to Sweden to visit relatives that he had found while on a mission trip in 1996.

We became very close to the Swedes and they visited us in October, 1999. I planned a huge family reunion for the Swedes and several relatives from Houston and Tyler. On the night of the reunion, I had a brain aneurysm and fortunately for me, two of the Swedes were physicians who diagnosed the situation and had me at a local hospital within about 15 minutes. I had brain surgery a couple of days later at Zale Lipshy Hospital in Dallas and was in ICU for 15 days. Again, fortunately and with God in control, I survived and with no complications or issues as a result of the aneurysm or the surgery.

Three months after the brain surgery, I went to work for Hewlett Packard and then I moved to Sabre Holdings in 2001. I work in Human Resources and wear several hats. I am the Leave of Absence Administrator, the Worker's Compensation Administrator and a Benefits Analyst. Unfortunately for me, I don't have travel privileges! But I love my job!

I have three grandsons who are the light of my life - Sterling is soon to be 7 years old (October 2007) and Brock is 2 years old (July 2007) and little Brady is 4 months old (born in April 2007). Monica and her family live in Arkansas. Oh well, it's only a 5 hour drive to Ft. Smith! Natalie and her husband Jason and grandson Sterling live in Burleson so I get to spend time with them and shower lots of "Grandmother love" on Sterling.

Kelly and I are divorced and I live in Grapevine so that I can be closer to Southlake for my job with Sabre Holdings. You may call or send email to cheryl.blomdahl@sabre-holdings.com. My home phone is 817-488-0408 and my cell number is 817-781-3384.

I would love to hear from any of you! It seems as if almost 40 years have flown by in a flash and it's hard to believe that we are all mature adults! But never forget that we are as young as we feel and I still feel like a teenager (I am thankful not to BE a teenager, but still feel like one!).

My life has not been all work and no play ... we have traveled a little and lived a lot. Kimball High School was a great training ground for the future.

On January 15, 2011, Mike Turner and I were married, and now we are looking forward to spending the rest of our lives together.

God bless you all!

Cheryl
