"After graduation, I attended Dallas Baptist College. My major was math. I enjoyed school, but decided to leave after one year to get married. I married Woody Thompson II (class of '65) in October 1967. We will celebrate our 39th wedding anniversary this year.

"We have two children, Wendy (37 years old) and Woody III (34 years old). Wendy, her husband and two children (Zachary age 10 and Emily age 8) live in Midlothian where she teaches 6th grade science. Woody III, his wife and two children (Danielle age 14 and Woody IV age 9) live in Maypearl. He works with us in our manufacturing company, Metal Detail, Inc., that Woody's Dad started in 1957. Woody has run the business since 1969 when his Dad passed away. We do production machining. I have worked in the business since 1979. Before that I was a "stay at home Mom".

"While our children were still at home, we enjoyed family ski vacations the most. After the children moved into their own homes, Woody and I started taking many active vacations riding our bicycles, hiking and river rafting all over the United States. We were in the Hawaiian Islands for the first time on our 25th anniversary when Hurricane Iniki hit Kauai where we had an oceanfront view room. We were marooned there for three days. More recently, we traveled to Alaska to kayak and camp for a week in the Glacier Bay area. Our group had six tandem sea kayaks for 10 guests and 2 guides and all of our gear and food for a week. It was quite an adventure.

"My favorite hobby is playing tennis. I now play seniors. If that doesn't make you feel old, I don't know what does. I guess seeing your grandchildren grow up so quickly in front of your eyes does too. Hope to see a good many of you at the reunion this summer."
