"I have been married to my wonderful wife Carol Beth for right at 36 years. She has the good nature to put up with this "pack rat". Beth is a front office secretary of RISD Apollo Junior High School. We have two children, our son David, Jr. age 33, who has our one and only granddaughter Zoe, age 7, and our daughter Jennifer, age 23, who is getting ready to graduate from UTD in December.

"After graduating from Kimball in 1966, I went to and graduated from Texas A&M University in 1971 (class of 1970). Like many others before me, I was able to cram a four year curriculum into five years. I started out in Mechanical Engineering, and then changed to Architecture after Chemistry devastated me, and I finally graduated in Building Construction, after tiring of the 24-48 hour work sessions required by the Design professors.

"I was a member of the Corps of Cadets at A& M and upon graduation earned the rank of Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Infantry. I later gained the rank of Captain by the time I left the service.

"I have been busy with the raising of my children. I have been an Indian Guide and Princess Guide Leader for them. I was both a Cub Scout Den Leader and an Assistant Boy Scout Leader with David. I was Troop Treasurer position of Jennifer's Girl Scout Troop for five years. Now I am starting the process all over again with my granddaughter Zoe. We just ended a year in the Princess Guide Program and are starting into Brownie Girl Scouts.

"Currently, I work for Raytheon, IIS Segment, Garland Division, Facilities Department (formerly E-Systems, Garland Division) as a Senior Facilities Planning Engineer. I work as a project planner and coordinator, including reviewing departmental requirements, space planning, plan design, estimating project costs, and bidding both general contractor / subcontractor job requirements and costs. "Basically, we move anything from one person all the way up to a whole department or building, along with the design work.

"I celebrated my 25th year with Raytheon (E-Systems) in October 2012. Retirement looms somewhere on the horizon.

"From May 1985 to August 1987, I started and ran my own interior finish out company, Tenant Finish Construction Company. That company successfully completed twenty-nine lease spaces until insurance costs and a tight economy caused it to shut down.

"From April 1980 to May 1985, I worked as a Construction Manager for Baldwin-Harris Company in Dallas Texas. Then, from January 1977 to April 1980, I worked for the Real Estate Division of Southland Life Insurance Company, Dallas, Texas.

"I worked as the Manager of Building Construction at Southland Center (now Adams Mark) from January 1977 to July 1979, then was transferred to and worked for Southland Building Services as Manager of General Maintenance at Las Colinas from July 1979 to April 1980. From July 1976 to Jan. 1977, I worked for La Verne Yates Realtors in Dallas, Texas as a Realtor Associate selling residential property. Before that, I worked for J.W. Bateson Construction Company in Dallas, Texas from November 1974 to July 1976 as an estimator.

"From May 1971 through October 1974, I worked for Inwood Construction Company in Dallas, Texas as an Assistant Project Planner, Surveyor, and Draftsman. Part of that time I was lucky enough to work on the leisure land development of Tanglewood-On-Texoma, Inc. on Lake Texoma in Sherman/ Dennison, Texas area."
